Tropicana runs real money casino games in one state only, New Jersey. It is owned and operated by Caesars, and everything you earn playing it feeds into Caesars Rewards.

That loyalty link is the reason to consider it. The app itself is the reason to think twice, and I will show you the number that makes that case.

I cannot hold an account at a US casino. What follows comes from Tropicana’s own site and promotions page, the New Jersey regulator’s permit list, and the App Store listing, all read on 25 August 2026.

New Jersey only, and their own site says so

Tropicana’s website states it plainly. The casino is for playing anytime, anywhere in New Jersey. The mobile page says players must be 21 or older and physically located in the state. The site title names New Jersey directly.

I am labouring this because other review sites get it wrong. One of the bigger ones lists Tropicana as available in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. It is not. If you are in Pennsylvania, this app is not available to you.

Who holds the licence

The New Jersey regulator’s own permit holder list gives permit NJIGP 25-012 to Caesars Interactive Entertainment New Jersey, LLC, as the affiliate of Tropicana Atlantic City Corp.

The site’s own footer matches. TropicanaCasino.com is owned by Caesars Interactive Entertainment New Jersey, LLC, care of Tropicana Atlantic City, 2831 Boardwalk, Atlantic City.

So this is a Caesars product wearing a Tropicana badge. That matters for what you get, because the rewards scheme is the Caesars one and it is the strongest thing here.

The welcome offer, and the figures floating about that are wrong

Read straight off Tropicana’s own promotions page: get up to a $200 slot bonus. New players only, on a first deposit. The page address describes it as a 100% match.

Two of the larger review sites give different numbers. One says you deposit $50 and receive a $15 slot bonus. Another says 100% up to $2,000. Neither matches what Tropicana publishes today.

This is why I read operator pages rather than other people’s summaries. A $2,000 headline and a $200 offer are not the same product.

The wagering

Tropicana does not put the multiplier on the promotions page, only a line telling you to see full terms. Two independent sources agree on the figures, so here they are with that caveat attached.

What 25x means on this offer. Take the full $200 bonus. You would need $5,000 in total slot stakes to clear it. That is the same balance going round rather than $5,000 of your own money, but the house edge takes a slice each time round. On tables at 50x you are looking at $10,000 of stakes, which is why almost nobody clears a bonus on table games.

Check the multiplier in the cashier before you accept. If Tropicana has changed it, the cashier is right and this page is out of date.

What else is running

These were live on the promotions page on 25 August 2026. They rotate, often within days, so treat them as the shape of what Tropicana does rather than a list to rely on.

Two things matter here. Everything is a slot bonus, so table game players get very little here. And the offers are short, often running for a day or two, which rewards people who open the app regularly rather than occasionally.

Caesars Rewards is the real reason to be here

Most online casino loyalty schemes return a fraction of one percent and are barely worth the space they take up. Tropicana’s is different, for one specific reason.

Reward Credits convert to cash. Tropicana publishes the rate on its own promotions page: for every 1,000 Reward Credits you convert, $10 goes straight into your cash balance.

Cash, not bonus funds. No wagering to clear, no expiry clock, no slot restriction. That is unusual and it is worth more than a bigger welcome bonus at a casino whose points buy nothing.

The bit that reaches beyond the app

If you never visit a Caesars property, the cash conversion is still the useful part. If you do visit, this is one of the few casino apps where the loyalty scheme is a genuine reason to pick it.

The app, and the number nobody else mentions

Here is the problem, and it is a big one.

The developer is Caesars Interactive Entertainment, the same company as the licence holder
It is 28.7 MB and needs iOS 13 or later, so it will run on very old phones, which is the one advantage of a small, old app
164 ratings in total. Golden Nugget has around 48,000. This is a tiny user base

For comparison, on the same store: Golden Nugget 4.6, Borgata 4.7, Hard Rock Bet 4.7. Tropicana sits at 1.9. That is a different category of product.

Android is not on Google Play

You download the Android version directly from Tropicana’s own website rather than from the Play Store. That is normal for New Jersey casino apps and it is not a warning sign in itself, since Google restricts real money gambling apps.

It does mean two things for you. You have to allow an install from outside the store, and there are no Play Store reviews to read before you commit.

Games

Tropicana publishes game categories rather than a total count. The lobby is organised into slots, table games, blackjack, roulette, video poker, Megaways titles and a Lucky Tap section.

Independent reviews describe the library as narrower than the biggest New Jersey operators. That matches what the site itself shows. If sheer choice is what you want, this is not the widest lobby in the state.

Live dealer

Live tables are streamed from Atlantic City. One independent source counts twelve games. Tropicana does not publish a number or name the studio, so I am not going to state one.

What I do not like

A 1.9 star app rating. The lowest of any app on this site by a wide margin
One state. New Jersey and nowhere else
25x on slots and 50x on tables. High, and the 50x effectively rules out clearing a bonus at the tables

The verdict

Tropicana is worth having for one reason, and it is a good one. Reward Credits convert to cash at a published rate with no wagering attached, and your online play builds Caesars Rewards status you can spend at nearly forty properties. For anyone already inside that ecosystem, that beats a bigger welcome bonus somewhere else.

Everything else is mid table at best. One state, a narrower library than its rivals, slots only promotions, high wagering, and an app its own users rate 1.9 out of 5.

My honest advice is to treat it as a loyalty account rather than your main casino. Play it when a promotion suits you, let the Reward Credits build, convert them to cash, and keep a better rated app for everyday play.
