Borgata Casino App Review

Borgata runs real money casino games in two states, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The app is operated by BetMGM, which matters more than anything else on this page. If you know what BetMGM plays like, you already know what Borgata plays like.

I cannot hold an account at a US casino, so nothing here is a claim about my own play. What follows is what Borgata publishes in its own terms, help pages and app listings, checked against the regulators, plus the places where its own pages disagree with each other.

Where you can actually play

Two states, and it is worth checking where casino apps are legal before you assume. Not the same list as the sportsbook, and not the same list as MGM’s wider footprint.

New Jersey

Live and long established, and the biggest of the New Jersey casino apps markets. The casino permit sits with the Atlantic City property, Marina District Development Company, LLC, trading as Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa, under permit NJIGP 25-001.

One thing worth knowing if you go looking. Borgata’s own terms of service still quote NJIGP 23-001. That is not a different licence. New Jersey reissues and renumbers permits every year. The current number is 25-001.

Pennsylvania

Live. Borgata is one of the operators named on the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s interactive gaming list. The board does not publish a licence number for each operator, so there is no Pennsylvania number for me to quote.

Not Michigan

This catches people out. MGM does operate in Michigan, but under the BetMGM name through MGM Grand Detroit. Borgata is not on the Michigan list. If you are in Michigan, the Borgata app is not for you.

Who actually runs it

The licence sits with the Atlantic City casino. The app is run by BetMGM, LLC, based in Jersey City, holding New Jersey casino service industry licence 487-50.

In plain terms, Borgata and BetMGM are the same platform behind two different front doors. Same software underneath, different branding, different promotions, separate accounts. If you already play at BetMGM, opening a Borgata account gets you a second welcome offer, not a different casino.

The platform was relaunched across both states on 30 June 2026. New navigation, one account hub, and a combined rewards area holding promotions, loyalty points and MGM tier in one place. Two in-house games arrived with it, Borgata Gem Strike and Borgata 777 Respin Deluxe.

For scale, Borgata was reported at 8.1 percent of the New Jersey market on 108 million dollars of gross gaming revenue to May 2026, which made it the fourth largest operator in the state.

Why you will see two welcome offers

There is not one Borgata welcome offer. There are two, and which one you get depends on how you arrive.

The offer on Borgata’s own site

• What you get: 100% deposit match up to $1,000, plus $20 free on sign up
• Minimum deposit: $10
• Wagering on the $20: 1x
• Wagering on the match: 15x, slots only
• Time limits: 3 days to claim the $20 and 7 days to clear it, 30 days to make the qualifying deposit and 14 days to clear the match

The offer served through promo codes

• What you get: 100% match up to $500, or 20 bonus spins per $10 deposited up to $100 deposited, so up to 400 spins
• Wagering: 5x, with 14 days to complete
• Extra: a daily bonus wheel for the first 8 days that can pay up to 1,000 bonus spins, with no wagering on wheel winnings
• Code: Borgata’s own blog gives BORGATACASINOBONUS, valid 1 July to 31 December 2026

The playthrough on that second version is disputed. Borgata’s own blog says 5x. Casino.org, serving the same offer under a different code, says 15x. That is a three times difference on the same promotion. Read the terms in the cashier before you accept it.

What 15x actually costs you

Take the headline offer at a middling deposit. You put in $500 and get $500 in bonus funds.

• Wagering required: 15 times $500, so $7,500 in total stakes
• What that is not: $7,500 of your own money. It is the same balance going round repeatedly
• What it costs: the house edge takes a bite on every spin along the way, so most players finish the requirement with less than they started
• Slots only: table games and live dealer play contribute nothing

That last point is the one to hold on to. If you came to Borgata for the live dealer tables, and the tables are good here, then the welcome bonus is not for you. Take the deposit without it.

Old offers still floating about

Borgata’s own landing pages are out of date. One carries an offer period ending 31 December 2021. The Pennsylvania equivalent carries 1 January to 31 December 2024. Both still show the $1,000 plus $20 structure, which is why that structure is safe to rely on, but ignore the dates on those pages entirely.

What Borgata does not publish

I would rather tell you where the gaps are than fill them with numbers I cannot stand up.

• Deposit minimums and maximums. Not published anywhere. The only figure stated is the $10 welcome offer minimum
• Customer support detail. No chat hours, no email address, no phone number. The help pages just point at a contact form. Third party sites quote phone numbers I could not confirm at source, so I am not repeating them
• Live dealer stake limits. Only visible once you are logged in
• Who supplies the live tables. Borgata never names the studio or provider on its own pages
• A total game count. The lobby publishes category counts, not a total

Games

The game count is unclear and I am not going to pick a number to sound confident.

• Borgata’s own app page says over 2,000 game choices
• The June 2026 relaunch coverage says over 4,000 titles, including 250 exclusive digital games
• The lobby itself publishes counts per category, such as 57 new games, and no total

The count showing in the app when you open it is the one that applies to you. Either way it is a big library by US standards, and the exclusive titles are a real thing rather than marketing, since the platform builds its own games.

Live dealer, and this is the strong part

The live dealer lobby is the best reason to pick Borgata over a smaller app. You can count the tables rather than trust a claim.

Those variant names will be familiar if you have played live dealer anywhere else. Borgata does not say who runs the tables, so I will not tell you either. What I can tell you is the titles are there and the branded tables are exclusive to this platform.

Deposits

Borgata publishes its banking methods properly, which is more than several of its competitors manage.

Withdrawals, and the number nobody advertises

The good part first. The minimum withdrawal is $10 on every method, and Borgata charges no withdrawal fee. It says so plainly. Your own provider might still charge you.

Now the part that matters. Every withdrawal goes through an internal review of up to three to five days. Only after that does the method timing below start running.

Borgata contradicts itself here

One Borgata page says money is typically available about 15 minutes after approval on online banking, Play+, Skrill, VIP Preferred and PayPal. Another says there is a three to five day internal review before anything moves.

Both can be true. Fifteen minutes is the time after approval, not the time from tapping withdraw. Plan for the review, and treat the fast payout as the part that happens at the end.

Apple Pay withdrawals are supported, which is worth saying because it is not universal. Borgata’s own Apple Pay questions page answers “Can I withdraw to my Apple Pay account?” with “Yes.”

Loyalty

Two currencies, and they do different jobs.

• Borgata Online Rewards Points buy bonus credit in the Rewards Store, or convert into MGM Rewards Points
• Tier Credits only move you up the tiers and cannot be converted into points or free play

The published earn rate, by their own example: $100 wagered on regular slots earns 20 points and 20 tier credits. On progressive slots it is up to 10 and 10.

• Sapphire: 0 to 19,999
• Pearl: 20,000 to 74,999
• Gold: 75,000 to 199,000
• Platinum: 200,000 and up
• Noir: invitation only

Points and comps are forfeited after six months of no activity at Sapphire, twelve months at the higher tiers. No loyalty balance has any cash value.

The genuine differentiator is the MGM Rewards tie in. Points earned on slots in New Jersey can turn into value at MGM hotels and resorts across the country. If you travel to Las Vegas or any MGM property, that is worth real money in a way that a casino-only scheme is not. If you never leave the app, it is an ordinary loyalty programme.

The apps, and the mistake to avoid

There are three different Borgata downloads, and people install the wrong one constantly.

• Borgata Casino – Real Money. This is the one you want. iPhone seller BetMGM LLC, 4.7 stars from around 50,000 ratings, 179.4 MB, needs iOS 16 or later. Android by BetMGM, 4.4 stars from about 10,600 reviews, over 500,000 downloads
• Borgata Poker – PA Casino. A separate Pennsylvania app carrying poker alongside casino games
• Borgata – Online NJ Sportsbook. A separate Android app for sports betting

Check the app name says Real Money and the seller says BetMGM. That is the whole check.

Both store listings show an age rating of 18 plus. That is the store’s own rating and it is not the play age. You must be 21 to gamble in both states.

Signing up and getting verified

Every regulated US casino has to know who you are and where you are standing. Borgata is no different, and the two checks trip up different people for different reasons.

The identity check

You give your legal name, date of birth, address and the last four digits of your social security number. Most accounts clear automatically in a minute or two. If yours does not, you will be asked to upload a photo ID.

• Use your legal name exactly as it appears on your ID. Not a shortened version, not a nickname
• Match the address to your ID or a recent bill. A recent move is the most common reason a check fails
• Do it before you deposit, not after you win. Verification is a mild irritation with an empty account and a serious one with a balance sitting in it

The location check

The app checks you are physically inside New Jersey or Pennsylvania every time you play. Being a resident is not enough and it is not the point. You have to be standing in the state.

• Location services must be on and permission granted to the app
• Near a state line is the problem area. Anyone close to the New Jersey and Pennsylvania border, or near New York, can get bounced even while legitimately in state
• On a laptop you will need their location plug-in. The phone apps handle it themselves
• A VPN will not help you. It gets accounts closed and balances held, and it is the fastest way to lose money you have already won

What is actually in the lobby

Slots

The bulk of the library, as at every US casino, and where the welcome bonus has to be cleared. The relaunch in June 2026 added two in-house titles, Borgata Gem Strike and Borgata 777 Respin Deluxe.

Exclusive games

The relaunch coverage puts the exclusive count at 250 titles. Because BetMGM builds its own games rather than only licensing them, these do not exist at other casinos. Whether that matters to you depends on whether you like them, but it is a real difference rather than a marketing line.

Table games

Digital blackjack, roulette and the rest, playable at lower stakes than the live tables and much faster. Worth knowing that none of it counts towards the welcome bonus.

What is not published

Borgata does not publish return to player figures in the lobby listings, and it does not publish a total game count. If a particular game’s RTP matters to you, the figure is usually inside the game’s own information screen rather than anywhere on the website.

After the welcome offer

The relaunch pulled promotions, loyalty points and MGM tier into a single Rewards Hub, so the ongoing offers are in one place rather than scattered.

What sits there changes week to week, so I am not going to print a list that will be wrong by the time you read it. The pattern at this platform is reload offers, free spin drops on named slots, and prize draws tied to loyalty tier.

This is the part worth comparing between apps, not the welcome offer. A welcome bonus happens once. If you keep an account open and use it, the ongoing terms decide what you actually get over a year. A modest weekly reload beats a large one off match for anyone who plays regularly.

Responsible gambling tools

Both states require these and Borgata provides them. They sit in the account settings rather than being advertised.

• Deposit limits, set by day, week or month
• Time and session limits, so the app stops you rather than you having to stop yourself
• Cooling off, a short break that locks the account for a set period
• Self exclusion, which is longer and far harder to reverse, and that is the point of it

New Jersey and Pennsylvania both run statewide self exclusion lists that cover every licensed operator at once, not just this one. If gambling has stopped being entertainment, that is the more useful route, and using it is a decision made by somebody in control.

Is it safe

Yes, in the way that matters. This is a licensed operator in both states it serves, tied to a physical Atlantic City casino, running on a platform owned by one of the largest gambling companies in the United States.

• The permit is real and checkable. NJIGP 25-001 appears on the New Jersey regulator’s own permit holder list
• Pennsylvania lists it too, on the Gaming Control Board’s interactive gaming operators page
• Games are tested before a regulator allows them into a licensed lobby
• Disputes have somewhere to go. A regulated operator can be complained about to the state, which is the practical difference between this and an offshore site

Safe is not the same as generous. Borgata is a properly licensed casino with a high wagering requirement and a slow withdrawal review. Those are commercial choices, not safety problems.

New Jersey and Pennsylvania are not identical

Same app, same brand, two separate regulators. A few things differ and it is worth knowing which.

• Separate accounts. Crossing the state line does not carry your account with it in the way you might expect. Check in the app rather than assuming
• The library is not the same size. Every game has to be approved by that state’s regulator, so lobbies differ. New Jersey is the older and larger market
• Cage withdrawals only work where there is a cage. Borgata’s is in Atlantic City, so that option is a New Jersey one in practice
• Check by mail timings are quoted for New Jersey. Borgata does not publish an equivalent figure for Pennsylvania

The welcome offer structure is the same in both, and the promotional landing pages for both states are equally out of date, so treat the cashier as the only current source.

Customer support

This is the weakest documented part of the operation and I am not going to dress it up.

• What exists: a help centre and a contact form
• What is not published: chat opening hours, an email address, or a telephone number
• What other sites claim: several quote a phone number. I could not confirm any of them at source, so none appears here

In practice, support at a platform this size is live chat first and everything else second. If you need a written record of a conversation, and with anything involving a held balance you do, use the contact form rather than chat so you have something you can point back to later.

One practical tip that applies anywhere. Keep the transaction reference for any deposit or withdrawal you have to raise a query about. Without it, support cannot trace a payment quickly, and with it most queries are answered in one exchange rather than four.

How it compares with the apps I have already reviewed

• Against bet365: Borgata has the bigger library and better live dealer range. bet365 is in three states to Borgata’s two

What I like

• The live dealer lobby is countable and deep. Ten blackjack tables and seven roulette tables is a proper range, not a token few
• Banking is published in detail. Methods and timings both, which is rarer than it should be
• No withdrawal fee, and a $10 minimum. Stated plainly rather than buried
• MGM Rewards. The only loyalty scheme in this group that turns into hotel value nationwide
• Exclusive games. Building their own titles gives the lobby something the smaller apps cannot copy

What I do not like

• The three to five day review on every withdrawal. It is not hidden, but it is not in the marketing either, and it undercuts the fast payout timings
• 15x wagering, slots only. High, and it locks out the part of the casino that is actually best here
• Two different welcome offers with a disputed playthrough. You cannot know what you agreed to without reading the cashier terms
• Stale pages on their own site. Offer periods from 2021 and 2024 still sitting live
• No published support contact. A contact form and nothing else

Who this app suits

The verdict

Borgata is a strong app carrying one irritating habit. The live dealer range is among the best available in New Jersey, the library is large, the banking is documented properly and the MGM Rewards link is worth real money if you ever set foot in an MGM property.

The habit is the withdrawal review. Three to five days on every cash out, every time, sitting underneath payout times advertised in hours. Know about it and it is an annoyance. Discover it while waiting on money you expected today and it feels like something worse.

The welcome offer is the weakest part. Fifteen times wagering on slots only, at a casino whose best feature is its tables, is a bonus pulling against the product it is attached to. I would take the deposit without the match and go and play the live games.
