Mohegan Sun Casino App Review 2026
Mohegan Sun runs an online casino in three states, and the starting point for this review is that they are three different businesses trading under one name. Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania have different owners, different licences, different apps and different loyalty schemes. What you get depends entirely on where you are standing.
The Connecticut one is the biggest surprise. It is licensed to Betfair Interactive US LLC, the app is sold by FanDuel Limited, and Mohegan Sun’s own site tells players to email FanDuel for support. If you are comparing Mohegan Sun Connecticut against FanDuel Casino, you are largely comparing the same product under two names.
Three states, three different casinos
- Connecticut: ct.mohegansuncasino.com. Master wagering licence held by the Mohegan Tribe, online operator licence OGO.000002 held by Betfair Interactive US LLC, which is FanDuel’s US company
- New Jersey: mohegansuncasino.com. Runs on the Resorts Casino Hotel licence in Atlantic City, owned by Boyd Gaming since September 2024
- Pennsylvania: play.moheganpacasino.com. Operated by Mohegan Digital Services under a Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board certificate, launched April 2024
No Michigan, no West Virginia, no Delaware. Three states and that is all.
Connecticut is a FanDuel casino
This is not a guess. Six separate things point the same way:
- The site footer reads “Betfair Interactive US LLC, 2023 is licensed in the State of Connecticut – License number: OGO.000002”
- The iPhone app is sold by FanDuel Limited, developed by FanDuel, Inc., and the copyright line is FanDuel’s
- Google Play lists the developer as FanDuel Group, Inc.
- Mohegan Sun’s own website tells players “For questions regarding the Online Casino through FanDuel, please contact: support@fanduel.com”
- FanDuel’s own welcome offer terms exclude anyone who has already wagered at Mohegan Sun Casino, which only makes sense if it is the same platform
- The Connecticut lobby carries a FanDuel Exclusives category with titles like FanDuel Football Blackjack and FanDuel Slingo in it
None of that makes it a bad casino. FanDuel runs one of the better apps in this market and my FanDuel review says so. It does mean you should not open both expecting two different experiences.
New Jersey is a second door into Resorts
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement publishes its list of authorised internet gaming sites, and mohegansuncasino.com appears on it under Resorts Casino Hotel Atlantic City, alongside resortscasino.com itself.
Boyd Gaming bought both ResortsCasino.com and MoheganSunCasino.com together, with the deal closing on 1 September 2024. The price was not disclosed. The iPhone app is sold by Boyd Gaming Corporation and its copyright line still reads DGMB Casino, LLC, which is the company that holds the Resorts licence.
So in New Jersey, Resorts and Mohegan Sun are two brands on one licence, one owner and one Atlantic City cage. Opening accounts at both gets you two welcome offers, which is fine and legal. It does not get you two different casinos. My Resorts review covers the other door.
Pennsylvania is the only one that is really Mohegan
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board lists Mohegan PA on its interactive gaming operators page. The app is published by Mohegan Digital Services, with a contact address at 1 Mohegan Sun Blvd, Uncasville, Connecticut. It launched in April 2024.
One detail says something about who built this. The Android package name for the Pennsylvania app is com.boydinteractive.mohegansun. That is Boyd Interactive’s naming, on an app whose listed developer is Mohegan Digital Services. The New Jersey and Pennsylvania help centres also carry word for word identical article text and identical deposit limits down to the dollar. I have not seen a commercial agreement between the two companies and I am not going to claim one, but the two products look built on the same platform.
The welcome offers
Three states, three completely different offers. The Connecticut one is published in full on Mohegan Sun’s own site. The other two are not.
Connecticut
The strongest of the three and the only one I can quote from the operator:
- 500 bonus spins on Huff N’ Puff, with 1x playthrough on all of them and seven days to use them
- Up to $1,000 back on your first day’s net loss, issued as casino site credit, expiring seven days after receipt
- Up to 500 Momentum Dollars depending on your status level, if you link your Momentum account within 30 days of your first deposit
- Minimum deposit: $10
- Excluded deposit methods: PayNearMe and cash at the counter
- Offer period: 9 September 2026 to 18 August 2027
1x playthrough on 500 spins is genuinely good. Several comparison sites name Cash Eruption as the spins game, but the operator’s own page, the App Store listing and Google Play all say Huff N’ Puff, so that is the one to believe.
Pennsylvania
Two independent sources agree on this and Mohegan does not publish it anywhere I could read:
- 100% first deposit match up to $1,000
- Playthrough 10x on deposit plus bonus
- Minimum deposit $10, 30 days to clear it
- Slots only. Table games and live dealer play contribute nothing
10x on deposit plus bonus is heavier than it first looks. Deposit $200 and take $200, and you are playing through $4,000 of slots to release it.
New Jersey
I am not going to print a figure for New Jersey, because the sources do not agree and the operator does not publish it. The current App Store listing says 50 signup spins with no deposit, plus 250 spins and a 100% match on the first deposit, and names no cap at all. Four comparison sites give caps of $250, $500 and $1,000, and wagering of 20x or 30x depending which you read. One of them expired in 2024 and is still live.
That is too wide a spread to publish. Read the offer on the screen in front of you before you deposit, and read the wagering line specifically.
Banking
New Jersey and Pennsylvania both publish full deposit tables. Connecticut publishes nothing I could find.
Deposits, New Jersey and Pennsylvania
The limits are identical in both states, which is one of the reasons the two look like the same platform:
- PayPal: $10 to $10,000
- Visa and Mastercard: $10 to $10,000
- Instant ACH bank transfer: $10 to $10,000
- Venmo: $10 to $2,999
- PayNearMe at 7-Eleven, Family Dollar and CVS: $10 to $500
New Jersey adds a Mohegan Sun prepaid card on the Discover network at $10 to $2,000, and cash at the Resorts Casino cage in Atlantic City at $10 upwards. Online banking through Trustly has been marked “coming soon” in New Jersey since an article dated April 2025.
Mohegan flags on its own card page that Visa and Mastercard deposits “often have lower success rates” and that your card issuer may add its own fee. That is a useful warning and most operators do not give it.
Apple Pay
No Apple Pay in New Jersey or Pennsylvania. It is not on either published deposit list.
Connecticut is unclear. Two review sites list it, no first-party page confirms it, and the two big Apple Pay round-ups do not name Mohegan Sun at all. Since Connecticut runs on FanDuel’s platform it is plausible, but I could not stand it up, so I am not stating it either way. Our Apple Pay casino guide covers the operators that do publish a position.
Withdrawals
Mohegan publishes one figure in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and it is a good one: “95% of our withdrawals are approved within 24 hours.” Then, once approved:
- PayPal: immediately
- Venmo: immediately
- Mohegan prepaid card, New Jersey: immediately
- Debit card: one business day in New Jersey, one to four in Pennsylvania
- Instant ACH bank transfer: one to four business days
- Cash at the cage, New Jersey: ready for pickup, and cancelled if you have not collected it within six days
- Check, Pennsylvania: up to 15 business days, and you have to ask support for it
The catch, and it applies to every method except the New Jersey cage: you have to have deposited with a method before you can withdraw to it. Set up the payout route you actually want on day one, not on the day you win.
Two comparison sites say 95% within 12 hours rather than 24. The operator says 24 in its own help centre, so that is the number here.
The minimum withdrawal is not published in any of the three states. Check the cashier.
Games
Mohegan’s own two app listings for New Jersey give different numbers. Google Play says over 840 online slots. The App Store says over 1,000. Pennsylvania says “hundreds of slot titles” and gives no figure. Comparison sites range from 250 to over 5,000.
When an operator’s own two store listings disagree with each other, no number on this brand is safe, so I have not printed one.
What I can tell you is what is actually in the Connecticut lobby, because that one loads without logging in. The titles there are drawn from Evolution, IGT, Aristocrat, NetEnt, Light & Wonder and Gaming Realms, plus a substantial FanDuel exclusive set. Names you will recognise include Cleopatra, Buffalo, Lightning Link, Dancing Drums, Divine Fortune, Gonzo’s Quest and the Wheel of Fortune series.
Pennsylvania’s app names Cleopatra, Da Vinci Diamonds, Fortune Coin, Gonzo’s Quest and Cash Machine. New Jersey’s names Divine Fortune and the MegaJackpots range.
Live dealer gaming
All three states have it. Pennsylvania names live dealer craps, blackjack, baccarat and roulette. New Jersey names blackjack, roulette, baccarat, three card poker and Ultimate Texas Hold’em.
No state names the studio. The Connecticut live titles are Evolution’s catalogue, Crazy Time, Monopoly Live, Lightning Roulette, Infinite Blackjack and the First Person series among them, which is strong evidence rather than a statement by the operator.
How Momentum works in each state
This is the most misreported part of Mohegan Sun online, so it is worth going slowly.
Connecticut earns both currencies
Link your Momentum account and online casino play earns both Momentum Dollars and Status Points. One Momentum Dollar is worth one dollar against dining, hotel, spa, entertainment, shopping, golf and show tickets at the property.
The tiers are Core, Ignite at 400 status points, Leap at 600, Ascend at 1,400 and Soar at 4,000, with Momentum Dollar accelerators from 10% at Ignite up to 25% at Soar. Video poker does not currently earn Momentum Dollars.
Pennsylvania earns Momentum Dollars and nothing else
In Mohegan’s own words: “Once your accounts are linked, you’ll earn Momentum Dollars every time you play online. At this time, Status Points are not currently earned through online play.”
So Pennsylvania online play builds spending money but does not move you up a tier. They also cannot be spent where you earned them: “Momentum Dollars earned online can currently be redeemed at: Mohegan Pennsylvania and Mohegan Sun in Connecticut.” They transfer to your land based account, usually daily and within three business days at the outside.
Enrolment is in person. You have to go to a Momentum desk at one of the two properties with photo ID.
New Jersey is not on Momentum at all
New Jersey runs a separate scheme called Stellar Rewards. Mohegan’s own app description says moving up it brings “exclusive incentives and promotions” at the Connecticut and Pennsylvania casinos plus offers at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. It promises offers, not a currency, and no conversion into Momentum or into resort spend is published anywhere.
Two comparison sites give tier names and earn rates for it. Neither is first party and one of them is clearly out of date, so I am not repeating the figures.
The earn rate nobody publishes
In none of the three states does Mohegan publish how many Momentum Dollars or Status Points a dollar of play actually earns. The Connecticut status points page raises the question and then sends you to the terms without answering it. So you can find out that a Momentum Dollar is worth a dollar. You cannot find out how many of them your play will earn.
Signing up and getting verified
New Jersey publishes its requirements properly. If automatic verification fails four times at account creation, or if the security team asks at any point, you will need to send:
- Photo ID: passport, driver’s license, state ID or military ID
- Proof of address: a utility bill dated within the past three months
- Social security card
Documents go through the Information and Security tab in your profile, or by email to the security address. Mohegan is explicit that you should not send them to customer support or through live chat. On bank statements it tells you to redact everything except the last four digits and the account holder’s name, which is sensible advice and rarely given.
Pennsylvania and Connecticut do not publish their requirements on any page I could reach. Expect the same three documents.
You must be 21 and physically inside the state each time you play.
The apps
Three states, three separate downloads, and each one is geofenced to its own state. Install the wrong one and you cannot register.
- Connecticut: Mohegan Sun CT Online Casino. Seller FanDuel Limited. 4.8 stars from 25,000 iPhone ratings, 210 MB, needs iOS 15.1. On Android 4.6 from 9,406 reviews, over 100,000 downloads
- New Jersey: Mohegan Sun NJ Online Casino. Seller Boyd Gaming Corporation. 4.7 stars from 1,700 iPhone ratings, 76 MB, needs iOS 14. On Android 4.3 from 481 reviews, over 10,000 downloads
- Pennsylvania: MoheganPACasino.com App on iPhone, Mohegan Pennsylvania on Android. Seller Mohegan Digital Services. 4.6 stars from 3,300 iPhone ratings, 44.3 MB, needs iOS 14. On Android 4.4 from 1,280 reviews, over 100,000 downloads
Those are good scores across all three, and the Connecticut app in particular has 25,000 people behind its 4.8. That is a large enough sample to mean something.
Two apps that are not casinos
- Mohegan Today. A business and hospitality news app, 3.3 stars. No games in it
- The Loop by Mohegan. A staff and contractor intranet app built by MangoApps. Not for players at all
Check the seller before you install. FanDuel Limited means Connecticut, Boyd Gaming means New Jersey, Mohegan Digital Services means Pennsylvania.
What players complain about
Connecticut reviews cluster on timeouts during play and credit lost when the app crashes. New Jersey reviews are mostly about withdrawal friction and wagering terms not being obvious at sign up, with Boyd replying that the terms are shown on the promotion page and again at deposit. Pennsylvania reviews object to all 500 bonus spins landing at once and to spin winnings needing to be played down before they can be cashed out, plus verification getting stuck.
These are what players say, not findings of mine.
Customer support
- Pennsylvania: chat around the clock, support@moheganpacasino.com, a ticket form, and a published phone number, 1-570-857-5455, 9am to 5pm
- New Jersey: live chat, support@mohegansuncasinonj.com, and a separate security address for documents
- Connecticut: Mohegan sends you to FanDuel. support@fanduel.com and FanDuel’s help centre. No Mohegan casino phone number is published
Be careful with the number you find on the Connecticut site. The (888) 789-7777 that appears there is the Connecticut problem gambling helpline, not customer service.
Is it safe
Yes, in all three states, and each one is checkable:
- Connecticut: the site carries the Department of Consumer Protection authorisation and the licence number OGO.000002, and the master wagering licence sits with the Mohegan Tribe
- New Jersey: the site is on the Division of Gaming Enforcement’s own published list of authorised internet gaming sites
- Pennsylvania: Mohegan PA is on the Gaming Control Board’s interactive gaming operators page
One thing to be careful about. A site at mohegansun.us.com carries a Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority copyright line and ranks for Mohegan payout and review searches. It is not one of the three addresses the regulators list and I could not tie it to the operator. Type the address yourself rather than following a search result.
How it compares with the other apps I cover
- Against FanDuel: in Connecticut they are largely the same casino. FanDuel reaches five states, Mohegan Connecticut reaches one
- Against Resorts: in New Jersey they share a licence, an owner and a cage. Resorts publishes a support phone number and Mohegan New Jersey does not
- Against Borgata: Borgata has the deeper library and live dealer lobby. Mohegan approves 95% of withdrawals inside 24 hours where Borgata applies a three to five day review to every one
- Against BetMGM: BetMGM is bigger everywhere and publishes more. Mohegan pays out faster
- Against Golden Nugget: Golden Nugget reaches four states to Mohegan’s three and its loyalty scheme returns about a tenth of one percent. Momentum Dollars are worth a dollar each, which is far better if you can get to the property to spend them
What I like
- Momentum Dollars are worth a full dollar each against dining, hotel, spa and entertainment. Most casino loyalty currencies are worth a fraction of a cent
- 95% of withdrawals approved within 24 hours, published by the operator in two states
- PayPal and Venmo payouts are immediate once approved
- Strong app ratings in all three states, 4.6 to 4.8 on iPhone and 4.3 to 4.6 on Android
- Full deposit tables published in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, with minimums and maximums
- The Connecticut welcome offer is 500 spins at 1x playthrough, which is about as light as a bonus condition gets
- Clear, sensible KYC instructions in New Jersey, including telling you to redact your bank statement
- A published phone number in Pennsylvania
What I do not like
- One brand, three different casinos. Different owners, licences, apps, bonuses and loyalty schemes, with nothing on the site telling you so
- Pennsylvania online play earns no Status Points, and the Momentum Dollars it does earn cannot be spent online
- New Jersey runs a separate scheme called Stellar Rewards, with no published conversion into Momentum or into resort spend
- No Momentum earn rate is published in any state
- No Apple Pay in New Jersey or Pennsylvania
- Every payout method except the New Jersey cage needs a deposit through it first
- New Jersey cage withdrawals are cancelled if you do not collect within six days
- The New Jersey welcome offer is not published, and the comparison sites range from $250 to $1,000
- The operator’s own two New Jersey app listings give different slot counts
- Momentum enrolment is in person only, at a property in Connecticut or Pennsylvania
Who this casino suits
Mohegan Sun suits you if you actually visit the property. A Momentum Dollar is a real dollar off a hotel night, a dinner or a show, and no other loyalty scheme in this market pays at that rate. If you play online in Connecticut and go to Uncasville a few times a year, this is the strongest argument for the brand and it is a good one.
I would look elsewhere if you never go. In Pennsylvania your Momentum Dollars cannot be spent online at all, and in New Jersey the scheme is not Momentum and promises offers rather than a currency. Take the resort out of it and what is left is an ordinary casino with a good payout time.
I would also look elsewhere if you are in Connecticut and already have a FanDuel account. It is the same platform, and the second account gets you a second welcome offer rather than a second casino.
Frequently asked questions
These come up most often about Mohegan Sun online, and the answers are the ones I could stand up at source.
Which states can I play Mohegan Sun online in?
Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Each has its own app and its own account.
Is Mohegan Sun Connecticut really FanDuel?
It runs on FanDuel’s platform and licence. Betfair Interactive US LLC holds the Connecticut licence, FanDuel sells the app and Mohegan sends support questions to FanDuel.
Can I use my Momentum points online?
In Connecticut you earn both Momentum Dollars and Status Points online. In Pennsylvania you earn Momentum Dollars only and they can only be spent at the two physical properties. In New Jersey there is no Momentum.
Does Mohegan Sun take Apple Pay?
Not in New Jersey or Pennsylvania. In Connecticut it is not published either way.
How fast are withdrawals?
Mohegan says 95% are approved within 24 hours. PayPal and Venmo are then immediate, bank transfer is one to four business days.
Why can I not withdraw to PayPal?
Because you have to deposit with a method before you can be paid out to it. That applies to every method except the New Jersey cage.
Are Resorts and Mohegan Sun the same casino in New Jersey?
They share a licence, an owner and an Atlantic City cage. Two accounts get you two welcome offers and one casino.
You must be 21 or older to play. If gambling is causing you a problem, call 1-800-GAMBLER. Our responsible gambling page sets out the tools and the help available in each state.
